Partnerships
The Carework Network has three kinds of partnerships.
Connections
Connections are links to groups with aligned goals, allies advancing care.
Collaborations
Collaborations are sites where we partner with another entity to produce knowledge or action.
Institutional Supports
Institutional Supports are ongoing relationships to build and sustain the capacity of the Carework Network.
The Southern Gerontological Society has been our Institutional partner since 2021. SGS provides financial and administrative assistance crucial to the sustainability of the Network. SGS also enables the Network to organize in-person conferences and virtual events, providing both technical and administrative support. Finally, SGS engages in ongoing intellectual collaborations with the Network at the important intersection of care and gerontology. Here are some recent examples.
- SGS and the Carework Network organized the closing panel for the SGS 2021 Annual Meeting, entitled “Building Equitable and Inclusive Models of Community-based Carework.”
- SGS and the Carework Network organized our first Carework Conversations: Authors and Advocates virtual book event in 2024 featuring commentary on Pittman’s Grandmothering while Black: A Twenty-First Century Story of Love, Coercion and Survival.
