Carework in Action Award
The Carework Network’s Care in Action Award recognizes a local organization from the host city of the Global Carework Summit that embodies the Carework Network’s commitment to supporting the self-determination of care workers, whether through advocacy, organizing, or mutual aid activities.
WHO WE ARE
The Carework Network is an international organization of researchers, policymakers, and advocates involved in various domains of care work. Based in the social sciences, individuals from all academic disciplines and advocacy organizations who take various approaches to the study of care work and care work policy are invited to participate in the Carework Network.

Authors and Advocates
Carework Conversations feature interactive discussions on recent books to reach across the boundary of academia and advocacy. Grandmothering while Black illuminates the strategies used by Black grandmothers raising their grandchildren to manage their legal marginalization vis-à-vis parents and the state. Author Dr. LaShawnDa Pittman from University of Washington Seattle, engaged in a lively discussion with Lynn Ng Yu Ling from University of Victoria, Fayana Richards from Michigan Public Health Institute and Barb Taylor from King County Kinship Collaboration.
